disclaimer: I am not of korean descent. if you want an idea of my background, I'm a latin american expat living in the us. my views/concerns/questions stem from the lens of someone immersed in north american culture since adolescence after having grown up abroad and experiencing the destabilizing effects of american influence in my country that urged my family to emigrate.
